VITEEE
Admission to B.Tech programmes across the four VIT campuses — Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP (Amaravati) and VIT Bhopal.
Eligibility
Pass in Class 12 with at least 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology (50% for SC/ST and candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and the North-East). Candidates appearing for Class 12 in the exam year may also apply. Biology-stream (PCB) candidates are eligible only for bioscience-linked B.Tech programmes. Age rule follows a rolling cut-off — for the 2027 cycle candidates born on or after 1 July 2005 are expected to be eligible.

Exam pattern
Computer-based test of 2 hours 30 minutes with 125 multiple-choice questions: Mathematics/Biology 40, Physics 35, Chemistry 25, Aptitude 10 and English 5. Each correct answer earns +1 and there is no negative marking. Every candidate gets a different randomised paper from the question bank within their booked slot. The all-India rank drives VIT's online counselling, where campus and branch are chosen in rank order.
Syllabus at a glance
State-board/CBSE Class 11-12 syllabus in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or Biology for PCB candidates), plus basic English grammar/comprehension and quantitative-logical aptitude. Difficulty sits at or slightly below JEE Main level, with an emphasis on direct, single-concept questions.

How toppers play it
- No negative marking and 125 questions in 150 minutes — attempt everything, and answer on first read; flag-and-return sparingly.
- Mathematics carries 40 of 125 questions, the single biggest block — speed in calculus, matrices and coordinate geometry moves your rank most.
- The 15 English-plus-aptitude questions are near-free marks; give them 10 minutes of daily practice rather than ignoring them.
- Questions are randomised per candidate but drawn from a stable bank — solving past VITEEE samples reveals the recurring templates.
- Book an early slot in the window if you prepare on schedule; late slots leave no buffer if a technical reschedule occurs.
